DAREBIN PARKLANDS

The Darebin Parklands is a stunning example of thirty-three hectares of regenerated bushland, with indigenous vegetation, echidna, lizards, snakes, possums, flying foxes and more than fifty bird species. The biodiversity of the Darebin Creek is not obvious at first. Walking along the creek the signs of careful planting by the rangers and Friends of Darebin Parklands becomes obvious with healthy clumps of native grasses and blooming wattles.

The Parklands are a beautiful green, open space close to the City and al the better fro us as they are within walking distance of our home.

This post is part of the Scenic Sunday meme.

  3. Lovely series... especially like the dried tree pitch. When my sister and I were little we'd break off pieces and keep them in our jewelry boxes... interesting that today I love and wear amber jewelry...

  8. Serene places surround Melbourne. The birds look so sweet, as if they are not bothered by human beings. The place is also not crowded with people.

people who choose to live in far flung outskirts of the city , have made a wise choice.

  9. Beautiful park. I hope to visit Melbourne some day but I've already visited Australia 3x and there is so much more of the world to see.

  10. Hi there - it’s been a long time since I've had a walk in this park - think I may have to pop over for a look around.

    Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
