ZEBRA MURAL, NORTHCOTE

This delightful upside-down zebra mural is to be found on a Mitchell St wall close to High St Northcote (map courtesy of Google Maps - the red 'x' marks the spot!).

This post is part of the Monday Murals meme.

  1. The poor guy is upside down. The effect worked. It made me feel like my blood was rushing to my head.

  2. Somebody put a lot to work in this zebra but I am afraid it doesn't help to keep this spot clean of graffiti.

  3. It is painted very well, but why upside down? Sad sight of all the grafitti around.

  6. Yup, I'm mystified also Nick.. The zebra is so beautifully painted...is there a story about why upside down?

  7. It is an excellent painting, but WHY THERE????? Ah, well, I'll never understand graffiti, but this is too good to be graffiti??? And, of course, like the others I ask, why upside down???? Lots of questions, but no answers except the simplest one -- it's an upside down world we live in! Great post/photos for the day, Nick!! Hope your week is off to a good start!

  8. A tagger did this piece of art! And to keep it from being "normal" he (or she) put it upside down. How lovely it is! A shame the whole wall isn't covered in his/her lovely artwork, and all right side up!

  11. Really well done. I suppose it attracts even more attention being upside down. Nice find.
