A freak afternoon storm caused flash flooding in Melbourne’s CBD and soaked Flemington Racecourse on Oaks Day. The worst of the storm hit about 2 pm, and emergency services received about 200 calls in two hours. Flash floodwaters breached kerbs across the CBD, including in Swanston Street and Chapel Street, Prahran.
We were fortunate in Fairfield, for although we had the storm pass through with lots of spectacular clouds and rain, we did not suffer from any flash flooding or damage to infrastructure and property...

Very dramatic sky!
ReplyDeleteHello, I love the cool dramatic skies. The white house in the first photo is gorgeous. Great series of images. Happy Skywatching, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose clouds look so dark and heavy - especially in contrast with the white home. The thunder seemed to rattle through our walls at school. Quite bad.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were spared! Love the sky in that first photo.
ReplyDeleteStorm can be very beautiful too, just like your photos. That first one is so awesome, the white building got a background to be more alive, resulting not in a surreal but awesome landscape. Your list choices here are all beautiful
ReplyDeleteAmazing storm clouds
