CITY VIEW, TWILIGHT

Princes Bridge is one of the central bridges in Melbourne and links Swanston Street to St Kilda Road. It is the third bridge on the site, and dates from 1888. In the best Melbourne tradition, the bridge is built on solid bluestone bulwarks with plenty of cast iron. Solid yet elegant, befitting the style of the city called "Marvellous Melbourne" since the late 19th century gold rush days.

This post is part of the Scenic Weekends meme,
and also part of the Sunday Bridges meme.

  1. Indeed, a fine bridge it is, Nick! And, as is your style, very colorful photos; an excellent contribution to Sunday Bridges.
