MORNING IN THE CITY

Melbourne City in the morning is a vibrant place as it wakes up and the influx of commuters begins. As I am an early bird, getting into work just before 7:00 a.m, I have ample opportunity to enjoy the smell of freshly brewed coffee and warm croissants fromt eh cafés, the hum of traffic and the squawk of seagulls, the feel of the fresh, crisp morning breeze and the wonderful sight of the dawn skies blushing as the sun rises. Here is this Friday morning's beautiful sky, looking East along LaTrobe St, with Melbourne Central shopping Centre in the background, with its distinctive conical glass dome (see here for an interior view), housing the old Shot Tower.

This post is part of Sylvia's Skywatch Friday meme.

  2. In Toronto, where I grew up, we had those type of streetcars. They actually had a stove in them which was used in the winter time. Good to see them again. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

  9. Morning glory! I love your skies. Like you, I am an early riser but my sky view is short because 20 minutes of my commute is underground (subway)

    Happy Friday!

  13. I've heard of that time of the morning - just like I've heard there's oxygen in the air, but I've not seen either of them!!! Well, not the morning for a VERY long time! Maybe I could be tempted if I knew it was THAT good!!

  16. Great shots Nick! Any time that I am forced to be up and about at that time it seems quite lovely but it's not very often that I see pre-7 am.
