DEGANI BOURKE ST, MURAL

Degani is a chain of Bakery-Cafés with branches in the City and many suburbs. They serve a reliably average range of snacks, meals, breakfasts, cakes, pastries and beverages. Their branch in the Bourke St CBW centre sports this large mural, which is computer generated and transferred to the wall using technology. It brightens up what could have been quite a dark and featureless place.

This post is part of the Monday Murals meme,
and also part of the Mellow Yellow Monday meme.

  2. That is so cool!! It does indeed brighten up what I can see would be just another dark, dull place! I love the colors! Great murals! Hope you have a good week, Nick!

  3. I like this one a lot. Great colors and I really like the wobbly (almost childish) lines! Really great find!

  4. Without that large slab of yellow, this could be quite a dim corner, especially on any one of recent Melbourne days! The outline only of features/graphics on the wall ensures the yellow dominates!

  5. It certainly turns the humdrum into a place I'd be more likely to stop by in.

  15. You're so right about it brightening up the space. Does each branch have the same mural? When you say transferred to the wall, do you mean put up like wallpaper, or projected so the lines can be traced over and then colored in? Either way, the end product is hip and eyecatching. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
