KEW FOOTBRIDGE OVER YARRA

Continuing our trip along the Yarra River (see yesterday's post), we come along to this footbridge across the river at Kew. Many people (especially non-locals) do not know of the existence of this bridge so it often comes as a surprise when they first see it. Extensive parklands are to be found along the river on both sides of the bridge. the wattles are in full bloom as the picture was taken in late winter.

This post is part of the Scenic Sundays meme blog posting.

  4. You will have to put a gun to my head to cross a bridge like this, esp when you have crocs in the water.

  5. LOL, Ann! We don't have crocodiles in Melbourne, fortunately.
It's a very pleasant place and the bridge is quite safe.

  6. That is pretty cool bridge. The water looks muddy is there any crocodile there?

  7. No, Kim, we have no crocodiles in Melbourne, but the water does get pretty muddy as we are quite far downstream, near the sea.

  8. Now, this is one fabulous swinging bridges. I am really into them, so appreciate this one immensely. It is a real beauty compared to the ones I post about. Actually, I posted one this week. Our sides are usually just mesh wire, bigger wire, or NO wire at all. Some are pretty scary and really old. This one is awesome. Gotta remember it for future reference. genie
