Volunteers play a vital role in the City of Melbourne’s tourism services. They provide information on Melbourne to around two million visitors each year. Their love and knowledge of the city and regional Victoria adds to Melbourne's reputation as a friendly, welcoming and culturally vibrant city. The City of Melbourne’s tourism branch generally conducts two volunteer recruitment intakes each year for the following tourism programs: City Ambassadors; Melbourne Visitor Booth attendants in the Bourke Street Mall and Melbourne Visitor Centre attendants at Federation Square.
With their bright red windcheaters and caps they are a very visible part of our CBD and are always helpful to locals and visitors alike, providing maps, directions, useful information and a wealth of brochures on what to see and do in this great city of ours.

The roving volunteer tourist helpers are a wonderful asset to our city.
