A. NUTALL KINDERGARTEN MURAL

Commencing in 1955, Alfred Nuttall Kindergarten has established an excellent reputation as a nurturing kindergarten providing an important service in the Fairfield community. Close to public transport, the centre is situated close to and liaises with the Perry Street Child Care Centre so that 4 Year Old Group children can use both facilities (staff are responsible for walking the children between the two centres). The friendly and approachable staff include two highly qualified and experienced teachers with special education training. Enthusiastic and dedicated, they are committed to encouraging each child's uniqueness in an atmosphere of warmth, safety and trust.

The mural is painted on the front wall of the kindergarten, but whenever I have passed by the door has been locked so I could not get any close-up shots nor determine who painted it. It is a bright welcoming mural well-suited to the place it adorns.

This post is part of the Monday Murals meme.

  4. A wonderful looking school and I love the mural!! Sounds as though it not only looks like a great school, but is one! I taught a number of different classes over the years from kindergarten to high school and a good kindergarten helps make the following years much more productive. From what you have written, this would be one of the better ones! Great post as always, Nick! Hope you have a good!

  6. Children at play surrounded by greenery under a blue sky, a delightful mural to see at a kindergarten. I've been shooting kindergarten murals too, but here in China they tend to be more cartoonish.

  12. It's a lovely mural from here. It seems to portray a childhood that we'd wish for all children. Don't you hate it when you can't get access to a subject for a closer look? Can't count the times I've tried to stick my camera through a fence to get a closer/better/clearer picture of something. Even at a distance, you managed to capture the charm of the scene. Thank you, Nick, for continuing to participate in Monday Mural.
