The bureau's modelling shows ocean surface temperatures across the tropical Pacific have cooled to neutral levels over the past fortnight. Waters beneath the surface have also cooled. Conditions are back to neutral and the bureau is now on La Niña watch. During La Niña events, rainfall in winter and spring is above average over northern, central and eastern Australia...
We had a rainy afternoon and evening today and more rain is predicted tomorrow with a maximum of 14˚C. I guess Winter is well on its way now.

It is almost the end of spring here going into summer and it has done nothing by rain for about 6,7 days in a row. No sunshine for days at a time. Our vegetables and flowers badly need some sun.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Looks like you're getting waterlogged there!
ReplyDeleteAs Peggy said above, we've been getting rain and clouds for days. Today it was clear - a welcome change because we were all starting to grow mold.

We were lucky to not have any rain when we visited Melbourne a couple of years ago.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you all are suffering with the rain like we are. It just does not seem to want to leave us. Thought we were going to get a break, but the weather report tonight destroyed my hopes. Loved all the shots with the people in their rain gear For being a darkish and wet day you captures really turned out well.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Nick. I just posted my daily photo and it is virtually at the same spot as your lead photograph. Snap! PS I hope we have a wet winter. The gardens need it.
ReplyDeleteYour rainy street scenes are g-r-e-a-t! Each photo is telling a story. Have a great week-end.
