UP, UP AND AWAY

We often have hot air balloons overhead in our neighbourhood as they use a nearby park as a launching ground. The balloons are a hit with both locals and tourists.

ALBERT ST VISTAS

Albert St in East Melbourne is one of the scenic routes one may take through inner Melbourne to get to the City. Right on the City outskirts, there are parks, marvellous old Victorian buildings and the magnificent Catholic Cathedral of St Patrick. An added bonus is the early morning flight of hot air balloons...

BALLOONS IN MELBOURNE

A sunrise hot air balloon flight over Melbourne is a remarkable experience. There are few major cities in the world that can be traversed by hot air balloon and there certainly is no better way to take in Australia's second largest city. In the early morning light balloons drifting by the array of parks and gardens that make Melbourne the world's most liveable city are a sight to behold.

We regularly get them flying over our garden, where I took these photos. One of these days, we'll take flight ourselves...
