SOUTHGATE MURALS
Located on the south bank of the Yarra River with views of Melbourne’s CBD, Southgate is a Melbourne restaurant, shopping and entertainment venue. There is a wide a range of restaurants, bars and cafes to suit a variety of tastes and budgets. The licensed riverside food court offers casual dining with spectacular views. Southgate also boasts interesting shops and offers a delightful selection of boutique designer fashion and accessories, unique gifts and homewares, as well as everyday shopping needs.
Visiting there last weekend we came across a series of murals based on the theme of a little girl on a voyage of discovery. The murals were delightfully whimsical and well-suited to where they were. I couldn't find any indication of who they were done by.
This post is part of the Monday Murals meme,
and also part of the Mellow Yellow Monday meme.
Beautiful murals. Have a fabulous week!

I like the artist's concept of turning on a faucet that pours out various paint colours.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful. I love the way the paint colours stay separate.
ReplyDeleteI do love the Be Free murals, too!! Great captures of a wonderful looking place, Nick! You do seem to have a great many of those kinds of places in your part of the world! Delightful!
ReplyDeleteLove these whimsical murals - my favorite one is the little girl pouring the content of her bucket on the wall. Creative and ingenious!
ReplyDeleteThese are really sweet! Love them all.
ReplyDeleteYes..really sweet!!!thanx for sharing!!XXXX
ReplyDeleteI love the colorful paint ones.
ReplyDeleteThis is a charming series. For some reason they make me think of children's book illustrations. I actually thought of Eloise, the rascally six-year old who lived at the Plaza, and taxed the patience of the staff (written by Kay Thompson). Your little girl is much more artistic. Her yellow untied shoes are as sweet as Eloise's shirt that never stayed tucked in. Thanks for contributing to Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteThese make a nice addition to a shopping center. I usually prefer more color in my murals, but these work well in (mostly) black and white.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place and beautiful murals..
ReplyDeleteVisiting from MYM- hope you can stop by..
