We had a very hot Summer's day today in Melbourne, with the temperature climbing up to 43˚C (that's 109.4°F). The electricity consumption went through the roof and the electric company pre-emptively blacked out several suburbs for three hours at a time. It was time to go and seek cool spots, with the park seeming an attractive option, but it was too hot also. We ended up in our public library where we spent three hours in lovely air-conditioned comfort. The only consolation was a cool change which came this afternoon with the temperature dropping to 25˚C within a couple of hours...
