Currently in Melbourne, we are experiencing very bad air quality, and there is a choking smell of burning with widespread hazy conditions as the smoke from the devastating East Gippsland bushfires drifts across hundreds of kilometres to reach the City. Here you can see the hazy outline of the city skyline across the Port Phillip Bay.

You can help the thousands of victims who have lost loved ones, property and the roofs over their heads, here.

This post is part of the Skywatch Friday meme.

  1. Devastating news from Down Under! We here in the States are uploading you in prayers! Seek God where He can be found. Blessings!

  2. A dramatic photo
It is terrible, a great natural disaster.
    It should finally rain!
Here in Germany, the horrific forest fires are always reported in the news.
Hopefully rain will come soon, that could help.
    All the best
    My sky

  3. Australia has been on my bucket list since I've been a child. I've been listening to the reports in horror. We have had terrible fires in my country (the United States) but nothing like this. It's past imagination. Alana

  4. These fires are heartbreaking. I have good friends in the Mont Albert section of Melbourne who I visited in 2018. They are vacationing in Europe right now, but I wonder what conditions they will be facing when they return.
