The Greenery Garden Centre has been operating on a gentle bend of the Yarra river for over 35 years. It has two convienient locations, one in Heidelberg and one in Lower Templestowe, both of them quite extensive and where one may find all sorts of gardening needs: Outdoor furniture, homewares, plants, water features, pots and planters, garden tools, indoor and outdoor garden art and cast iron urns and fountains.

I always enjoy visiting there and at the back of the nursery, where the seedlings are displayed there is a large "trompe-l'oeil" mural of verdant countryside abloom with all sorts of plants. It blends in well with the surroundings. Forgive the poor quality of the photos, it was very difficult to do the mural justice on account of the strong dappled sunlight and shadows.

This post is part of the Monday Mural meme.

  1. What a beautiful nursery. Nice variety.

  2. Isn't it the perfect time of year to visit a place like this Nick. Everything is so new and green.

  3. It's so nice to see all the spring plants for sale. The mural is a perfect background!

  4. Those murals are great, a perfect background for the plants in front.

  5. The murals create a lush environment which must inspire people to go forth and plant something. At least it spurs me on. Thanks for contributing to Monday Mural.

  6. This so very beautiful . A wonderful place for garden lovers. Lucky!
