NEST, EGG, BIRD

The Darebin Parklands is a large park close to where I live. The Darebin council’s art and culture department commissioned the artwork called "The Nest",  which was made by artists David Bell and Gary Tippett from recycled materials.  The egg-shaped is quite imposing and I am sure has confused some of the birdlife, like this lonely moorhen seen at the edge of the pond.

This post is part of the Blue Monday meme.

  1. I love that first photo, the enormous egg and the blue landscape and the color of the grasses... I haven't ever seen a photo of a moorhen before. They are pretty birds.

  2. Ooo, I think that moorhen is lovely! Manmade art cannot compete.

    Thanks for playing.

    Happy Blue Monday, Nick.

  5. Hi Nick. That moorhen must have been very bewildered by the size of that egg. Cheers J.
