HOPETOUN TEA ROOMS, CITY

In Melbourne's Grand Victorian Block Arcade, the Hopetoun Tea Rooms provide the means for a window into the vintage era of the 1800’s. In this tea shop with the quiet and relaxed atmosphere, in Victorian surroundings, with the largest etched mirror in Victoria one can really step back in time.

Light meals and sandwiches served with organic tea, in a variety of flavours. A range of delicious desserts, cakes and sweetmeats are available. High Tea is a must at this place and perfect for Mum on mother's Day or any other time of the year (bookings required for high tea). Another perfect spot in the City fo Melbourne's Golden Mile.

Happy Mother's Day to all mums!

  17. Last year I visited Hopetoun House just outside of Edinburgh. A statuette in the foyer looked familiar - turns out the 6th Earl (Lord Hopetoun) was the Governor of Victoria and Australia's first Governor-General and his wife is associated with the Tearooms that bear their name. The full sized version of that statue is in the Kings Domain.
