MELBOURNE AUTUMN

Melbourne enjoys a temperate climate with warm to hot summers, while spring and autumn tend to be balmy and mild, with the winters cool. Melbourne is seldom unbearably cold or unbearably hot. Temperature extremes when they do occur, tend to be in the summer with the hotter realms of the thermometer causing more problems than the colder.

There is a reputation for rain in the city, which is statistically unfounded as Melbourne receives only 50 percent of the average rainfall of either Brisbane or Sydney. Perhaps it can sometimes be a little unpredictable. Nevertheless, it is a comfortable environment to live in whatever the season. In fact it is a great place to watch the seasons change, they are so clearly defined and so highly visual within the many parks and gardens of autumn and spring, giving rise to all of natures spectacular beauty and charms within the confines of a great city.

  5. I'm not always too happy with the snow and the rain that we sometimes have, but I couldn't live without the seasons. Your top photo with the flowers is my favorite, I like the point of view! Have a great weekend.

  18. Beautiful yellow reaching for the sky! And there is something quite haunting about the street scene! No one walking maybe! But especially love the autumn leaf floating in the ripple of water.

  22. Pictures are gorgeous and actually make me miss living in a 4-seasons kind of place. We are happy to be missing Winter now that we're old(er)...but I am glad we -- or or kids -- didn't grow up here where there really are only two seasons...dry and wet!
